The State of Football

With just two games remaining in the season, UW has been through many ups and downs. While our record is basically what was expected, the performances in big games have been less than great.  While we have beat the mediocre teams , we have been blown out by all the top-25 teams. We sit at 6-4, already bowl eligible but looking for more.

The next two games are against teams with losing records but are definitely not easy wins, Oregon State has shown that they are capable of putting up big offensive numbers as well as playing soundly on defense. Wazzu is a rivalry game and while they have lost to some bad teams, they have also played big in big games and will bring their A game, especially if somehow they beat Utah and have a bowl game on the line.

Right now the biggest problems facing this team seem to be the offensive line and lack of execution. At the start of the year our offense was rolling, pass protection was great and we were firing on all cylinders, after the Stanford game everything switched up. Now we have faced great competition since then but a lot of fans were hoping form more. Now, you can't blame Price too much because he has been sacked way to many times and is probably uncomfortable in the pocket but he has been missing open guys a lot lately.

Going into games against lower quality opponents, we should have a great shot at a 8-4 season.  To accomplish this, we have to get back to playing our type of football and stopping mental errors. The way we have played lately i would give us a D grade (1-3), but for the season i think you have to give us at least a B. When your only losses are against top 25 teams and 3 of them being on the road, it dose not seem to bad.

Just Win
